Reflections for City Marshal Henry N. Norman
If I recall correctly, the local newspaper printed that he had been killed by a group of Mexican Desperados.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 96th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

SEEING BEYOND
See the blossom on the bare branch,
See the harvest in the tiny seed,
See the wholeness in the illness
See God's Order in the confusion,
See Life in the midst of death,
See the substance of things unseen.
Thank you for your dedication to the safety of your fellow man and for your ultimate sacrifice. We know that life is eternal and will pray for you daily. Please look upon us and remember all of us waiting to meet you. Keep us in your prayers. We love you.

Each day I try to read the ODMP. Today I read your story. Any officer who dies in the line of duty will always be remembered for his sacrifice. You died a hero. Rest in peace Marshal Norman.
Captain Robert W Cannon, Ret.

Marshal Norman was the first officer killed in the line of duty in Santa Paula. Thankfully, only one other has died, a motor officer James Barmore who was killed in an accident.
