Your heroism and service is honored today, the 86th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

I never knew my grandfather. He was killed in the line of duty, leaving behind my grandmother and three children. My dad, the youngest, became fatherless at age 5. It was his day off, but he was substituting for an officer who had taken ill.

By all accounts he was a wonderful and courageous man who helped many people and provided shelter for immigrants until they became settled.

We do not know the circumstances of your passing. What we do know is that you gave your life in the line of duty. For that you are a hero and will always be remembered. Rest in peace.
