Your heroism and service is honored today, the 85th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be remembered and revered. I am sure you are proud that your grandson and great-grandson followed your legacy of protecting and serving.

Rest In Peace

You would be proud to know that your great-grandson Mark was recently hired as a Police Cadet for the Joliet PD. He follows now only in your footsteps, but that of your grandson Robert, who was a Patrol officer here, but more recently has been employed as a Sergeant with the Will County Forest PReserve PD.

Not a day goes by that I don't walk by the JPD memorial and look at your picture and badge and think of you and all the other officers who lost their lives while employed at JPD. Please look down on us all and help us do our best in our chosen profession.
