Reflections for Police Officer Gregory Player Mullinax
Dad,
Not a single day goes by that I do not think about you. Even after all of this time. Even though I was only a little girl and no one realized it, I remember the night like it was yesterday. I remember a lot of things about you and a lot of things we did together. You were a good man and I miss you every minute. I miss everything we were not able to do together. I am very proud of what you did and what you fought for. I am thankful I was old enough to have memories of the short time we shared. I had a hard time but I hope you are be proud of how I turned out. I love you!

Officer Mullinax, I never got to meet you, I was a junior in high school when you died. Years later I went to work for a large company in Atlanta, Ga. One of the first people I met was you wife. I just want you to know, she is doing very well. And has become, thru the years, one of my dearest friends. A few years ago she gave me a very special gift. The dept. patch from the uniform you were wearing the night you died. She also gave me the notebook you had in your pocket that fateful night. I used it proudly until it was all gone. Although we never met, I feel a very close kinship. Keep a close lookout on us down here, as we pin on the badge, and go out to do the job you gave your life for.

Thank you for watching over us daily... I know that because I am reminded daily what you gave up so my dad could have. He misses you alot and I know he thinks about you daily. He keeps you close to his heart by wearing a necklace that reminds him of you. I thought about starting in Austell once I finish school. I have only a year left so it will not be long. Everytime I drive by the station I think of you and my dad. I have never been to the location, but we have driven by it several times. Everytime, dad looks out the window and down the road, he does not know that I know, but I watch him. He has guided me and I do know if I would have been so interested in Law Enforcement as I am if he hadn't dedicated his life to it. Keep watching over us, we need it down here.

I listen to my dad talk about you and that night in particular. I thank you so much for saving my dad's life. He has been a big part of my life for 20 years. I never got the chance to meet you in person but I am sure I know enough about you from the stories. I see your daughter every now and then. She has grown up to be a beautiful lady. I think she has your livly personality. Rest in Peace and look after the rest of us.

I still visit your gravesite often, especially on the day you went 10-7, 10-42. Thanks for being my friend, partner and lifeasver. My career was dedicated to you. I hope I made you proud. See you at roll-call.

Ofc. Mullinax, my father was the State Trooper who caught your murderer. Before I began my career in Law Enforcement, my father took me to the scene of your murder and recounted the events of that fateful night. Twenty years after the incident, I could still hear and feel the anger, and sadness in his voice. I felt like writing just to let you know, I honor your memory everyday by wearing a memorial bracelet while I'm at work. Please look after me.

I heard the radio traffic from your last call. I heard you call "1232, Signal 63". It made my heart stop and tears begin in my eyes. We use this tape in training for new recruits. We want them to know the seriousness of this job. When we listen to your call we can't help but think but for the grace of God go I.
