Reflections for Police Officer Gilbert Montoya

You were my great Uncle. I was born a year after your death. You were always talked about in our family and so I learned to love you without ever meeting you. The heartache of my family members was felt through the years and showed me how much you were loved. Thank you for your service and dedication.

At the age of 9 years old. As your cousin you are the first death I ever remember. This was very hard for me because it was the first time I ever saw my father cry. It was also very hard when your father passed shortly after from what was a overdose. Again this was very hard for my father. I want to thank you for you service and your dedication to your duty. May you and your father and mother rest in peace.
