On today, the 59th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just for your Community but for our Country as well when you served during WW II. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 57th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

You were killed in the line of duty more than forty years before I was hired at BPD. I want you to know that a memorial for officers who have fallen in the line of duty was erected at the Showers Building (City Hall), and your picture and story of how you died still hangs in the front lobby at BPD.
You have made all of us at BPD proud.
