My father, Lawrence A. Cumiskey, was an officer with the Toledo Police Department when Patrolman Miscannon was shot. I'll never forget seeing my Dad sitting at the kitchen table with his head in his hands crying over this tragedy. Patrolman Miscannon's name is emblazoned on my heart for eternity. God bless his family.

Each day I try to read the ODMP. Today I read your story. No officer who gives his/her life for us need ever be forgotton. You died a hero; rest in peace.

Becuase of the coward that took Officer Miscannon's life he never got to see his 3 children grow up. He never got to see his grandchildren. But because he chose to protect and serve I hope that because of his bravery another man got to see his children grow. His murder has never been solved....
