Reflections for Sheriff Louis J. Miesner
Sheriff Miesner,
On today, the 80th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just as a Law Enforcement Officer but for our Country as well when you served with the U.S. Army during World War I. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

I just visited the jail today, November 2, 2012 the 68th anniversary of Sheriff's Meisner death. The patching on the bullet holes did not hold and are they very visible. I touched them myself.
What an amazing coincidence to be there on the actual anniversary.

My name is Jeremy Aaron Ross, son of John Earl Ross, son of John Aaron Ross, son of Zacharia "Zeke" Feldon Ross, son of George Washington Ross, son of Robert Ross, son of William Ross...who came to Missouri in the year 1816 as a furtrader and surveyer. Veteran of the war of 1812....surveyed Booneville, Mo....son of William "The Merchant" Ross...who came from Scotland to Virginia in the year 1767.......My Mother's Maiden name is "Miesner" whose family roots go back to Cole Camp, Mo....incidently enough, I found out that my Great Uncle WAS Sheriff Louis Miesner. .....I remember growing up and hearing stories, with bullet holes, "still in the wall of the jail house".....but, being 35years old, it seems Ive waited 35years too long to see them......I wish I would have made the time, before they were patched up.........Oh well, such is life

I am a Deputy with the Benton County Sheriff's Office and we still opperate out of the same building that Sheriff Miesner was killed in. In fact when I started with the BCSO two years ago the bullet holes in the wall had just been patched.
