Your heroism and service is honored today, the 93rd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
I live in Northern California and last year our Bay Area was rocked by the murder of four officers from Oakland PD.
I was unaware of this bloody day in the history of your department. These killings must have devastated your department and community, and of course, your family.
Rest In Peace.

"Uncle Eddie" as I grew up hearing you referred to; you were the paternal uncle of my maternal grandmother. When I chose policework as a profession some 14 years ago I heard many stories about you from your neice Evelyn (my great-aunt) and about how you were taken from them. From what I heard you were a great man and a great cop. I hope, in some way, you've looked upon my career to this point from your post in heaven and been proud. Tell 'em I said hello and will some day see all of you.
