Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Cleo Meeks
Deputy Sheriff Meeks, rest in peace.
Rabbi Lewis S. Davis
January 9, 2020
Cleo Meeks was one of the nicest guys anyone would ever want to meet. He was my uncle, my fishing buddy, my friend and neighbor. So sad for his life to be ended so quickly. And, one of the really sad parts about this shooting, is that Cleo used to play dominos with the guy that shot him. So they knew each other and Cleo was not expecting any trouble from the guy.
All law enforcement officers need to be wary of EVERY move that they make.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 46th anniversary year of your death. I am privileged to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service.
My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.
