On today, the 40th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of the state of Arkansas. That was such a tragedy and a day I will never, ever forget. I remember it as if it happened yesterday and it makes me ever so sad. Ronald Opie was such a special man and certainly left a great legacy not only at the ADC but his legacy lives on in his fine sons.

I am so thankful for all of the good memories I have of our times together.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

I pray for solace for all those that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. Your family is in my heart's embrace.
