Don was the first officer to make me feel at home. I'm sure he is still making people feel that way. God bless you, Don

Each day I try to read the ODMP. Today I read your story. Any officer who dies in the line of duty will always be remembered for his sacrifice. You died a hero. Rest in peace Lt. Hill.

I worked under Don for about a year. Don was a fine man and a lot of fun to work with. Don was getting ready to retire. He was working overtime, trying to build up his retirement fund when he was killed. Law enforcement lost a wonderful man.

Wells County Sheriffs Department

At the beginning of every shift I supervise, myself and the other officers on shift dedicate the day to the memory of a fallen officer.

Tonight, November 11, 2003 we dedicated the shift to the memory of Lieutenant Donald Robert Hill who died on this date eight years ago.

When one law enforcement officer falls, we all stumble for a while, but we will carry on.

Lt. Hill's sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Sgt. Paul Bissonnette
Royal Canadian Mounted Police - Surrey, BC
