Reflections for Trooper First Class Edward Plank
I watched the memorial film made by Mike Lewis. This was a very inspirational film.

I hate these sad stories. You were robbed of so much
and it isn't fair that a decent individual should die at
the hands of such a thug. Not only were you robbed,
but also your parents, wife, daughter and other loved
ones were robbed of your presence. Thanks for your service and time hasn't diminished your sacrifice.

Eddie,
It seems like yesterday that you backed me and Jay up after our shoot-out with Thanos. I'll never forget your dedication to your job and to your fellow officers no matter what uniform they were wearing. Thanks for your sacrifice and continue to watch our backs.

To the family and friends of Trooper Plank and his fellow officers with the Maryland State Police, and most especially to Trooper Edward Plank:
Today it has been ten years since your brutal murder. Trooper Plank, your valor and dedication are not forgotten.
I hope that his family is still embraced by the care and comfort of their law enforcement family, and other police survivors.
This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the service Trooper Plank gave to his community and the citizens of Maryland, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on October 17, 1995.

Trooper Plank, you died far too young, but you were doing your job. Your brothers and sisters who've gone before you honor you in your heroism and look forward to comparing notes in God's environment. You did well, and your family has every right to call you a hero, as we do. God Speed, Trooper Plank.

TFC Plank,
I first learned of your life and tragedic death in an Interdiction Class taught by Sgt. Mike Lewis. It spoke volumes of you and your love of police work, to see the tribute he paid to you. Thank you for your inspiration and love of this job. Like Sgt. Lewis said, "some people come out here and make it happen, others watch it happen, and the rest wonder how it happened." I knew he was speaking of you when he talked about those "who make it happen." TFC Plank, I just pray that youwatch over all of us, and I will pray for you, your family, and all those you loved!!! Rest in Peace!

I learned today, 02DEC2003, of Trooper Plank's life, exemplary service and death while attending a Highway Interdiction Seminar. Sgt. Mike Lewis of the Maryland State Police paid great tribute to his fallen brother.
My sympathy and prayers go out to the family, friends and brother and sister officers who knew Trooper Plank. While I know there are many fine troopers in Maryland the citizens of that great state have suffered a tremendous loss. Trooper Plank was a Top Cop and a True Hero!
Everyday the Thin Blue Line grows thinner. While the loss of our fellow officers are always tragic, we must use it as a source of strength and rededicate ourselves to serve in their honor and memory. Rest in Peace Trooper! We'll cover your watch.

Trooper Plank, thank you for laying down your life to protect the lives of others. I am sorry that the people responsible for your death will only suffer life in prison...but I am happy to know that they are behind bars and will never be free to roam the streets again and cause this type of pain. God Bless, Trooper Plank.
