Reflections for Officer Tommy De La Rosa
I can remember the night, as if it was last night, when my brother ( an OC cop ), and I joined other cops from throughout the Southland, to pay tribute to your memory. The Red Onion in Fullerton is now closed and forgotten, but your memory lives on....RIP, Bro !

Tommy,
I never had the opportunity to meet you as I was hired as a police cadet at Fullerton PD about 6 months after you left us. I recall everyone around the PD talking of you and how you were missed. My wife of 12 years, who was also a police cadet and dispatcher for Fullerton PD at the time, did know you and told me that she was deeply affected by what happened. Thank you for your service and may you rest in peace. May god bless your family.

Brother De La Rosa,
May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
And the rains fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
Respectfully,
You’re Brothers in Blue

I attended the Califonia Narcotics Officers Association C.N.O.A. in Reno this year and one of the intructors told us about this incident and your death. Thank you for your sacrifice and service to your County, State, and City. THe instructor told us what a great U.C. you were. May God bless your family forever.

Mr. De La Rosa,
I am proud to be part of your family as I have found the person I want to spend the rest of my life with in your daughter Nicole. You would be so proud of the woman she has become. She is a true survivor and such a strong person.
I promise I will take care of her and protect her with everything I have, but I ask just one big favor from you......please continue to watch over me while I am out there on patrol. I know you were the reason I survived the shooting I was in back in 2003 and gave me the strength to continue to fight that piece of trash...thank you again for everything!

Tommy,
We were classmates and squad mates in the academy, (class 65). I remember how proud you were when we graduated and how happy you seemed the day I came down to FPD to do a background and you helped me out.
I've told many others your joke about the rear lights.
I hope you have found peace my friend.

I had been on the job a few months and was on duty the day you were killed. I heard the officer down call go out and will never forget trying to get through the rest of the shift.
We will never forget you and will always have a "Tommy" story to tell the new guys..
