From the time I was a little girl, about three or four, I knew I wanted to drive a patrol car. My father had taken a photograph of me, on the running board of a State Highway Patrol vehicle in Springfield. When I saw the picture, I recalled the memory I had that day. At the age of 44, in 1983, I entered the police academy in Henderson/Oxford NC, graduating second in my class. It was an honorable career. I am happy your great, great grandfather was able to lay his life down for those he loved and cared for.
I am a retired police officer. I am eighty years of age and now reside in Troy, Ohio. I graduated, in North Carolina, February 19, 1984-1994

I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
