It was my honor to have been G-12’s immediate supervisor at 9000 floor, Men’s Central Jail, 1995. Just a terrific young man. I sometimes reflect on what we lost that night. All these years later tears come to my eyes. God bless you, Antranik Geuvjehizian. You are remembered.

Antranik was an amazing, smart and kind man who loved his family. We studied at the Gemological Institute together. He had a huge heart and was taken to heaven too soon.

G-12, It's been many years since our academy days in Class #247. I still tell the stories today of our secret code when we'd be getting inspected and you'd "sniff" like you had a cold. I only knew you for two months while you worked for the Department as an "off the streeter". Your smile was contagious. You exhibited so many wonderful traits and I could see a fantastic career in your future.

Saw an LASD post in Facebook today; the recruits were learning handcuffing techniques. Thought back to our Academy days. Your locker was directly across from mine, and I laugh when I think of the ridiculously short amount of time we were given to get changed and ready for "whatever" came next. You were always upbeat, and obviously happy to be a member of the LASD. You are not forgotten old friend; we still morn your loss, and pray for comfort for your family....

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 115th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Today at work when I came in I saw everyone in their Class A uniforms. They all looked very sharp. They did this in your honor. They wanted to do something special on this day, to show that you are not forgotten. I heard them talk so highly of you and that how much you are missed.

"The Badge"
He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.
He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.
Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.
He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.
His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.
He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.
And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.
But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.
Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.
Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.
So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.
In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.
Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.

I learned why "G-12" was your moniker. I remember how Judge Ito and other LA County Judges spoke so highly of You after that fateful night.

LASD/LASO and LAPD are much closer than many realize, and You most definitely have not been forgotten.

I am truly amazed at the time that has gone by since you were senslessly murdered. I often think of the long conversations we had about being trainee's at CV/Altadena. Even though at the time I was a reserve trainee you never treated me different and became a good friend. Now I've been full time for nearly 10 years but still fondly remember my days at LASD working with some of the best. You are not forgotten!!
