Finally, you may now Rest in Peace Mark. I will never forget the night of August 19, 1989 when the Signal 13, "Officer Down" went out over the radio. It is unbelievable that it has taken nearly as long as Mark was alive for justice to be served. My thoughts and prayers go out to the MacPhail family. God bless you all - forever! Thank you Mark for your service! You are a hero!

I knew Mark.He was a good man and a good officer. He was quiet and soft spoken, intelligent and caring. He was working extra to help support his family as many officers must do. He did not deserve to die at the hands of the individual who has filed countless appeals to save his own life, yet had no qualms about executing an officer in cold blood. I sincerely hope that justice is finally served. I know that wherever Mark might be, his concern is of only the best for his family,of which I am sure he is proud.Mark, you will not be forgotten.
