On today, the 25th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of the state of Mississippi. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy. There is no tougher job in Law Enforcement than that of a Corrections Officer.

On behalf of the family, I am proud to announce that a portion of Mississippi Highway 3 between Tutwiler and Vance, MS has been adopted in memory of fallen Officer Sidney Harrison. Signs have been placed there in his honor.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 14th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
