I would like to update the public on new and detailed information I discovered about my great-great uncle Juan Lopez Jimenez. According to his death certificate, this is the correct date of death: May16, 1904 at 8:30 pm in the police station house in Vega Alta. He was apparently taken there after the confrontation. He was 32 years old. His wife Placida Cabra Muniz passed away (cause unknown) before he was killed. As a result of this tragedy, their minor child, Mercedes Jimenez Cabra, was then raised by her paternal grandmother Maria Jimenez Hernandez.

I had 3 relatives in the PR Police Department. All 3 from Vega Baja. ..........My maternal uncle Ernesto J. Barrios Collazo, (Retired) Thank you for your service............................ ..........Maternal 2nd Cousin Jose Rivera Collazo, Retired on a Disability Pension due to gunfire he received to his leg , pursuing an armed suspect, resulting in amputation. Thank you for your service.
My 3rd relative was Juan Lopez Jimenez, my maternal grandfather's maternal uncle. I think that would make him my great great uncle. I was told that he responded to a fight at the San Vicente Sugar Cane Factory in Vega Alta and was stabbed trying to break it up. Thank you for your serrvice.
