Lt. Lentz,
On today, the 49th anniversary of your murder, I would like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of Cleveland. It took three more years, but the scumbag that murdered you got the the justice that he deserved.

Lt Edward Lentz left behind a legacy in the Cleveland Police Department that has spanned 3 generations. His son Edward has served the department for 43 years and is currently a Lieutenant. His other son, Martin, is currently the Chief of the Cleveland Heights Police Department. Lt Lentz also has a 3rd generation of police officers's following in his footsteps, as several grandchildren are currently police officers. Even though he died before I was born, his legacy will live forever in his children, granchildren and beyond.
