Patrolman Lee and Allen came to my house in 1968 to take a report of a stolen bike. It was mine and I was 8 years old and heart broken. My bike was gone! I remember through my tears that they had promised to find my bike. A few days later a blue and white Plymouth Fury pulled in the driveway and out they came, opened the trunk and pulled out my bike. They were my hero's! A few weeks later I came down stairs for breakfast and found my mother crying at the breakfast table. with the news paper in front of her. The two young patrolman who were so nice to me had both been killed in a tragic auto accident. i am almost 52 now and still think of them and what they did for a brokenhearted 8 year old. God bless and watch over them.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 43rd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
