Reflections for Trooper Brooks D. Lawson
Thanks to all who have served and paid the ultimate price. Also, thanks to all who have left reflections here for me to read over and think about Trooper Lawson who is my father. I have no recollection or memories of him. I was very young when he passed away.

Trooper Brooks Lawson,
I do not know you, nor was I even alive during your lifetime. But I have a connection to you. I am an Alabama State Trooper, as you. My wife taught your granddaughter in first grade. You have a beautiful family. I have met your sons that were just babies when you were took from them. I have took an etching of your name off of The Wall in Washington DC and will give it to them as a reminder, that your sacrifice will not be forgotten. I was actually at a funeral not long ago, and stumbled over your grave. I pulled back the grace, and cleaned it up a bit before I left. Thank you for your service, and I hope to meet you in Heaven one day. PS, I gave your granddaughter, Courtney at little trooper bear years ago.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 44th anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.
I pray for the solace of all those that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. I thank your family and friends for sharing their devotion to you through their reflections.
