Dolar was my wife's great, great, grandfather. As a current law enforcement officer the memory of his brave and heroic act and the manner in which he died will be remembered. I had the great pleasure of attending the wa state law enforcement memorial with his daughter and my wife's great grandmother Rosa (LaPlant) Hibbard before her passing two years ago. May we never forget our heroes and the lives they led. "Gone but not forgotten".

Correction from my last post on here , Dolar was my great grandfather .
Dolar LaPlant will be receiving a new headstone on May 9, 2015 to honor his sacrifice for Eatonville Washington.
I am thankful for the help from Michael Severance (Retired SPD ) , Jim Heishman ( Eatonville Police Chief ) for the help
getting Dolar nominated for the medal of honor. Which he received , it will be presented at a memorial ceremony for him on May 9 ,2015. The headstone was paid for by Crime Stoppers of Pierce County , Tacoma Washington. I am thankful that we are giving Dolar Laplant the proper service for a fallen officer.

I want to say "Thank you " for serving. I am your great great grand daughter. I only heard about you being killed in the line of duty, but nothing more from family. You were a very brave man. I wish that I heard more stories about you before my Aunt Rosa ( your daughter ) had passed away. I wish that I had more photos of you , but the only one is in a news article . RIP in peace forever Grandpa .

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 88th anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.
