Reflections for Police Officer Stewart E. Savage, III

Where do I begin? Stewie! you were the best and the brightest of all of us, I have never known as fierce as a competitor as you....I will always picture your laugh, the smirk on your face (RRRight...) and the way you'd saunter into a room. You were also one of the craziest guys I had the pleasure of hanging around with...I knew you for 7 years and regretably I only served with you side by side for 8 short months. But, for me, to this day, it is still the most memorable 8 months of my career; Stew Savage, a cop's cop. The truth is, it's just not the same without you....I take comfort in wearing your badge number (35) on the side of my cover; people always ask me if it's my badge number and I tell the curious; number "35" belongs to my friend, Stew Savage, he died in the line of duty, making the ultimate sacrifice for the community he protected. I only hope I can be half the police officer he was....

Rest in peace my brother, my friend;
Mikey G.

I am still missing you every day, but I know you are with me. You keep me going, you keep me smiling, you keep me breathing. You will never be forgotten. Thank you for your dedication and love of your job and thank you for your sacrifice. I love you always and forever. "'Cause when I close my eyes, I still can see your smile, it's bright enough to light my life, out of my darkest hour, please believe it's true when I tell you I love you"

To Officer Stewart Savage III, his parents and other loved ones:

On this the ninth anniversary of your tragic death, please know that your memory is honored and revered today.

My heart goes out to your family. You’re in our thoughts and our prayers.
I share his parents' anquish of having lost a child in the line of duty. It is an agony no parent should have to endure. Stewart was so young and had such a lifetime ahead of him. How you must miss that irresistable grin that his memorial picture shows.

Stewart, you rescued us, saved our possessions, our lives and our families. You are one of the rare heroes among us. You were always there for us in the most traumatic moments of our lives. No matter when we called, we just expected that you would come and do whatever it took to help us, and you always met our expectations. Your selflessness and dedication are awe-inspiring.

This world, this country, your community truly are better places because of you. To have lost you is a great tragedy, an irreplaceable, immeasurable loss for society. We are grateful for and to you, and honor you for all you did for us day in and day out whether you received a word of thanks or praise.

Rest in Peace, Officer Stewart Savage. I am humbled by your valor, courage, and dedication.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the distinquished service Officer Savage gave to his community and the citizens of Massachusetts, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on March 18, 1995.

Rest in peace, and thanks for keeping the peace while you were here. Officer Savage's death is one of the many examples that life isn't fair, but he was one of the few who chose to make right the wrongs that he could in life by protecting and serving. God bless his family, his memory will live forever.
