Reflections for Chief of Police Gregory Lynn Lange

100% No Parole for Andrew Salinas. I remember July 5th like it was yesterday. I was a teenager and my family was part of the extended Law Enforcement Family in Southern Minnesota. Sue and Chris my heart goes out to you everyday.

You've been on my mind a lot the past couple days- just had to leave a message! So many years have gone by yet I remember as if it were yesterday. You would be pleasantly surprised that I had a message from a high school kid you had actually as a paper carrier when you were Circulation Manager at the newspaper before the OPD. He thinks of you often - how about that! You did make an impact on the kids you worked with!! Love you always!

Tomorrow would have been our 46th Wedding Anniversary - hard to believe you have been gone now more years than I had known you. How proud you would be of your son, Chris, and his family - his boys and our little granddaughter. Miss you so much. Love you forever.

I was working as a legal secretary in the Dodge County Attorney's Office at the time of Greg's passing. I worked along side of the County Attorney, Joseph F. Wieners, to bring about a just conviction of his murders.

Greg came over to my house in the middle of the winter and blew the snow out of my driveway at no cost to me.

Inconcievable to think parole might be seriously considered in this case. This man deliberatly killed a police officer! And then he ran. No surprise he tried to escape several years ago. That message says he is not remorseful and is trying to escape the consequences he obviously doesn't think he deserves. Although the laws have changed in MN and now convicted cop killers get life w/o parole it seems the message sent by keeping him in prison would at least show support and respect for our public servants.
What impact would this have on the victims family and friends and community. This murderer continues to live yet they have spent twenty plus years w/o their husband, father, friend, community member. Greg Lange would only now be reahing retirement age had he been allowed to live. How much good might he have contributed to his family and community?
