Reflections for Police Officer Ronald A. Williams, II
As a former member of the Seventh District, let me assure you that your presence was felt in that district everyday. You are greatly missed by those who knew you. While we never met, those who spoke of you always spoke from a very deep place in their hearts. Rest In Peace brother, we all wait for a long delayed day of justice.

it's been over 14 year's since this tragic event with your so called partner, which your worth a thousand of by the way. it's a pity she did'nt have your moral's & ethic's. You were'nt even facing them,it's a pity that you could'nt even defend yourself but at least you passed away as a man & hero. RIP,you will never be forgotten.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the fourteenth anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater who was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.
I was sickned to learn about the circumstances of your brutal murder. The betrayal of you and what the badge stands for is overwhelming. I am glad that your family and department received the full measure of justice for this monstrous crime.

Ronnie -
You would be incredibly proud of your boys. They are turning out to be great young men and they take good care of Mary.

I grew up with Ronnie and remember him well. We built club houses together and played cowboys and indians. He lived behind my house in New Orleans east and I remember he had a younger brother named Sean. He was a great guy. I remember he saved me from a terrible situation when he was a police officer, something I feel guilty about to this day.His killer was sentenced to death on my birthday. How ironic. It made me sick when I learned of what happened. Anyway , I will never forget Ronnie, he was a good person, may he rest in peace. (to his wife Mary Buras, if you remember me , I send my best wishes. I read the book about the tragic, and shocking circumstances of your death. Reading it filled me with outrage. May justice be swift, and may she have to answer to you again one day. Rest in peace, brother officer, and know you will always have a special place in the hearts of the law enforcement community.

Although I never met you, I feel as if I know you. I have followed the incident since the day they took your life. I got to know you a little more after reading the book. I pray that your family is doing well and that you are watching over all of us. You will never be forgotten.

The Badge"
He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.
He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.
Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.
He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.
His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.
He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.
And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.
But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.
Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.
Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.
So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.
In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.
Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.

Your cowardly murderer may have been hired by the city of New Orleans, but she was NEVER a cop, not by a long shot. I will think of you often and will celebrate the day Justice due becomes Justice served by the finely sharpened point of a needle.

Ronnie,
We spoke but once, at CLU one time around 1993. I do remember joking with you about the "crowd control" or lack thereof inside CLU one day. Your untimely death hurt us all so bad, and we all miss you. Your sons are growing into fine young men. As for the people who did this to you, we are all patiently waiting for the justice they SO sorely deserve. When it comes, we will all be there and tip our hats to you, once more. May you rest in peace brother, and know that we will always remember the sacrifice you made for this city.

Ronnie my blog here is long overdue. Growing up with you and Shawn was a kick. I remember our last conversation at Video Plus on Read Rd. and then your turncoat partner commited an act so vile. Don't worry we have kept the watch and we will continue to do so. Rest well my brother and when I join you up there don't hide the key to the gates on me.

I still cannot understand how a fellow officer could take another officer's life and being that the suspect was the victim's on duty partner is unbelievable. May you Ofc.Williams rest in peace you are surely a "HERO" in every aspect. One day the suspects will see you again and you can ask your partner why and how could she do such a heinous thing? Then God will judge her again. Rest in Peace!!!

It's still so hard to fathom one officer turning on another. Thank you for your sacrifice in trying to keep the streets of New Orleans safe. Though much time has passed, you have not been forgotten. RIP

RONNIE, WE'VE MET SEVERAL TIMES WHEN I CAME TO THE 7TH DISTRICT STATION TO SEE YOUR FTO,(OUR FRIEND), NOPD OFFICER SEAN CARRIGAN. SEAN CARRIGAN AND I HAVE BECOME CLOSE FRIENDS TO YOUR YOUNGER BROTHER SHAWN. HE HAD FOLLOWED IN ALL OF OUR FOOT STEPS AND WAS AN OFFICER HIMSELF. I'M SURE YOU WERE PROUD OF HIM. YOUR SONS HAVE GROWN INTO HANDSOME YOUNG MEN AND RESEMBLE YOU SO MUCH. THERE ARE STILL TIMES THAT YOUR BROTHER, SEAN CARRIGAN, AND MYSELF STILL TALK OF AND THINK OF YOU. ONE DAY WE'LL ALL BE LUCKY TO SEE YOU AGAIN AND BE WHERE YOU ARE. YOU HAVE NOT AND WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN.
