Your heroism and service is honored today, the 44th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Your sacrifice was made so many years ago. Evil was, is, and will be a part of life just as goodness such as yours will also be present. You were a credit to your communty.

Rest In Peace

Rest in Peace, Deputy Lamoreaux. Your sacrifice is not forgotten.

My uncle Len was a selfless man who spent many years volunteering with the Marine Posse before he became a deputy. Interestingly enough, even though he spent a lot of time in marine rescue work, he couldn't swim. Shortly before his untimely death, he was told he had to retire at 65 because of age restrictions for peace officers at that time. He didn't want to retire and because of his unique dedication to the Search and Rescue work, the County Board of Supervisors granted him permission to continue working past 65. He was killed in the accident very shortly after the Board action. He was a very special man.

Thank you Marine Posse Deputy Leonard Lamoreaux. Although I do not know how you died, your sacrifice to your county and the citizens of California is a tragedy nonetheless.
