This is my 2nd great uncle. My grandfather, George Kounse, was young when Henry passed but says Uncle Henry was special because he would always go to the store and buy a huge $1 bag of candy for his nieces and nephews. He looks just like my grandfather and several other family members. Thank you for your service, Uncle Henry, and I'm honored to be part of your family.

I recently discovered while researching family history that Officer Kounse was the uncle of my great-grandmother. I remember when I announced my intention to become an officer her mentioning she had an uncle who was an officer, but never pieced together all the information until now.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 81rst anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never dimishes respect and your memory will always be honored and revered.
