On this anniversary of your untimely death I would like to reiterate my previous reflection and say that your sacrifice will always be remembered by your law enforcement brethren.

Your assailants may have ultimately escaped justice here on earth after being acquitted, but they surely faced a higher justice somewhere else at a later time. Thank you for your service and please know that no passage of time will ever erase your sacrifice. Rest in peace always.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 98th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Rest In Peace as you certainly did your duty.

I was saddened to see Off. Kissinger had no reflections...understandably all those who knew him are long gone. However, the newspaper article detailing his death revealed the nature of this officer, the honor and pride of a time past, as his dying words were "Sargeant, did I do my duty?"....Although he may not hear me...Yes, John, you did your duty well.
