Dad!! I finally got my tattoo for you!! =] Its a star with your badge number in it. I get told its sooo small but I don't care! Its my way of remembering you. Supposedly the guy did it in blue too. I think he knew you were a police officer.Anyway, my birthday is this thursday...finally 19, and mom is double my age. Haha..Miss you. I wish you were here. Holidays and birthdays are never the same.

These were the hardest years of my life since that call that morning of Dec 8th, YOU would be so proud of the great daughter of ours. She reminds me so much of you, Miss you and I hope you and my parents are keeping your mom company. Your presence is felt daily, keep guarding us from above,
Love always

I had heard some time ago, that Mike Brown had passed away. Living out of state at the time, I had no way to be certain. I have finally been able to validate this tragedy so many years later.
I attended elementary school with Mike and he was a great person then, I can only imagine what he was able to contribute to his public service as a police officer.
Thanks Mike for your sacrifice and I hope to one day see you when we all come together at the Lord's table.

Mike,

You always were my best friend. I remember all the times we shared growing up in Slavic Village. The day you died a piece of me went with you. Ericka, if you ever need anything you call on me. Your Dad was the greatest man I ever knew.
