Reflections for Chief of Police R. Sheldon Jones
While your assailant may have never been caught, he surely faced a higher justice at a later time in a different place. Rest in peace always knowing that your service will never, ever be forgotten as no passage of time will ever erase your sacrifice.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 108th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Rest In Peace

A SHELBY PD HERO
There are heroes who walk among us
never looking for glory or praise
They don't seek recognition
for their thoughtful, caring ways.
Living lives of deep commitment
providing for those they hold dear
Steadfast with a quiet strength
through times of laughter and tears.
You were a person like that to our Department.
The most selfless man by far
So Chief Jones, I'd like to thank you
For being the HERO that you were. Thank you for being so selfless and giving to our City. We will meet you on the "Beat" someday, until then watch over your Troops.
