It's now been 86 years and it's truly heartwarming when I see family members of the victims leave remembrances/reflections, especially years after the event. To know that a family has not forgotten a hero is a wonderful thing.

Keep Resting in Peace, Brother and God Bless you, still.

I remember spending a month with my Great Aunt Grace who was his widow and having her tell me about this tragedy. Until that time in 1993, I had never known he was a police offer killed in the line of duty. She spoke kindly of the Cranston PD. Thank you.

My grandfather. My father was nine when he was killed. In those days, there was no survivor continuance or other benefits. But the Cranston PD came together and took care of my grandmother and my dad. My dad never got over losing his father.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 83rd anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

Patrolman Johnson, today marks the 78th anniversary of your murder. I feel no sadness that your killer died in prison and though that may make me a bad person in the eyes of some, many more agree that it was the only way to achieve any form of justice for your death.

My former father-in-law's brother was Chief of the Cranston PD quite some time back and over the years of travelling to that city, I grew to truly appreciate it. I only met a few Cranston Police Officers, but that city and it's Police have earned my respect. You, through your sacrifice have more than earned the respect of anyone who has ever pinned on a badge.

God Bless and may you continue to Rest in Peace, Brother.

Protecting our freedoms here on the home front makes you a hero, no different than those who have served the armed forces protecting our freedoms in wars abroad only your battle was closer to home.

God Bless You
