I pass the sign near the corner of Tremont and Boylston every day, and think of this man I never met.
Really wonderful to see the reflections left here by colleagues and family.

Patrolman Johnson, it has been 55 years since you were taken from us. New England law enforcement has continued to thrive, learn and become safer due to the traditions and sacrifices you, your family, and many others have made for us. Thank you for your 27 years of law enforcement service.

Tonight I found myself on Tremont Street, waiting to cross the street. I looked up and happened to notice the sign with Officer Johnson's name and the date of March 17, 1969 on it. I was curious to see what I could learn about him, and I found this page. Sounds like a true hero. How fortunate we are to have men and women who are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to keep the rest of us safe.
