To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 53rd anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

Officer Roy James was a dedicated police officer. I knew him during the time that he was married to my Aunt Nadine and visited him several times while he was an officer with the Moultrie Police Department. He was a wonderful man, and I remember how proud he was to serve as a police officer. My aunt and our family were certainly shocked when news reached us that he had been killed. Officer Roy James will always be remembered for the full sacrifice he paid in serving his community.

Rest now my brother your watch is over. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family and agency. We will continue to train officers that will hopefully live up to your example. Walk proudly on your beat on Heaven's streets and watch over the rest of us continuing the fight. I worked at MPD for 6 years, even though I did not know you, your name is said with reverence.
