Rest in peace Patrolman Isaacs and Olav Hashalom. My dad belonged to Shomrim in Florida and was a New York City officer for nearly forty years with the 102 precinct.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 80th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

"If I am not for myself, who will be for me? But if I am not for others, what am I? If not now, then when?" -- Rabbi Hillel
On that evening you lived up to those words and that which is expected of every Chicago Police Officer. I believe you were Shomrim. Shomrim or not you were heroic when heroes were few. We honor your service and your memory. May it be forever a blessing.

As a young officer I patroled the district to which you were assigned. As a detective I am back there again. Even though it approaches 79 years since your heroic actions you shall not be forgotten. It shows that as officers we are on duty 24 hours a day. Thank you.
