Please join the Massachusetts State Police to honor and remember the sacrifice of Trooper Davidson G. Whiting on this his 26th anniversary.
During a heavy rainstorm, Trooper Whiting’s cruiser was struck head-on by a driver who lost control of his van on Route 128 in Lexington. A two-year veteran and 31 years old, Trooper Whiting was a member of the 70th RTT (1992) assigned to C Troop. He leaves behind his wife.
May he continue to rest in peace knowing that his memory, sacrifice and family have not been forgotten.

On the exact date, 23 years ago today I was involved in a shooting incident that could have taken my life as well. Thankfully I was able to recover from the shooting but had to retire shortly after. I will never forget this date nor will I ever forget Trooper Whiting who paid the ultimate sacrifice on this same date.

I never knew David but I was in the pick up truck in front of him at the accident.I saw him behind me in my mirror and I pulled out of the outside lane.The van came over the guardrail and almost landed in my truck.God Bless you David.I think about you and the van driver constantly.

I still think of you often. I am so happy you reached your dream of being a Mass State Trooper, you sure talked about it a lot. I could not have asked for a better roommate at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. We had a lot of good times. I hope you are getting some well deserved rest.
