Kit, I know that you and Mom have been reunited. She so longed to see you again. I still choke up all these many years later as I read the reflections posted here. God took you from us at such a young age. I can now understand just a little bit how that tragic night positively affected so many other lives, but the selfish part of me still wishes I could hug you today.

God Bless all of our public safety officers as they sacrifice their own safety every day to serve.

Thank you for serving and dedicating your life to our city. My father, Arthur Haddaway Jr. worked on the force with you. He use to tell us all kinds of stories. I know now you two are sharing lots of stories while watching down on us.. Sadly, the day you passed, we had a blessing in our family, my brother was born.(they almost named him either Lewis or Kit for you, but decided against it because they were still in shock) My daddy would tell us, that he thought that you moved on through him..

Over the years when officers pass away in the line of duty, I always think of you.. I may not remember all the other officers names, but yours I will always remember.. and I always say a prayer for them.. as well as you and your family.. Please know that you will always be in the hearts and minds of people you have never meet. Again, thank you for serving our city and giving the ultimate sacrifice.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 38th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.
