This man is my great-grandfather. My grandfather, Fred, was one of his sons. Fred had to go live with an uncle because his mom could not take care of all eight children on her own. Very sad.

I am the great-granddaughter of John Huebner. My grandfather, Fred Huebner, was John's 6th child. After being shot, John lingered for days at home while his wife Christine tended to their 8 children. After the death of his father, Fred was sent to an orphanage because John's wife Christine could not care for all the children by herself. I am proud to be related to such a brave officer.
