Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Lieutenant Michael J. Lutz

I never met you.In October or November I found out i was related to you by marriage, and i was very proud to be.Iwish Icould have met you.I did meet Tanner on 12-14-01 one day after my birthday. After Tanner was slain I made a memorial on the back window of my black S-10 pick up.It had your name and unit no.and Tanner's name and unit no. I'm planning to make another one. Most or all of the deputies know my S-10.Bob Stephenson or Matt Lutz has a picture of it.Rest in peace Lutz and Tanner. Please accept my condolences to their families and to the MCSO.

Can't believe the years have passed like they have. There is not a day that goes by that I don't replay the call to see if there is anything else that I could have been done. I just hope you know that I tried everything possible. Rest in peace 12.... Rest in peace

Mike -- 5-14-03 -- today we remember you, Robert and the others who gave the ultimate sacrifice to keep us safe.

It's been several years since when we placed the 12 sticker on our vehicle. yet not a day goes by that your work is not remembered.

I saw your granddaughter in London and mourned the fact that you never got to meet her. With one life taken another is given -- may you look down with pride on the lives of your family. Blessings to you, Robert and to your families left to be here for each other! ~~A law enforcement family in Zanesville

Mike -- I never knew you and have had opportunity to meet your wife only because of tradegy. Please know she is a strong lady who has carried on admirably. She has come to the aid of a fellow officer's wife when Tanner joined you.

We struggle with why lives are taken from us, but knowing that you touched the life of another and made her stronger must be rewarding. For all you have done and for all you continue to do as we think of "12" may God bless you always!+

Hi,Honey just wanted to drop you a few words and say we love you and miss you. Memorial Day is here and this is a hard time because we think of all the memories. Hope you and Tanner are doing fine as we know you two are looking over us and protecting us in your own special ways. Jennifer and I are really close due to you two. Thanks! We are all hanging tough and know you are to. Miss you and love you very much. Polly

We are saddened to have lost one of the GREATEST officers ever to carry a Muskingum Co. Sheriff badge. May our sorrow be short but your memory last forever. S 12, you shall never be forgotten.
