IT'S DONE! Yesterday the communities of Crescenta Valley as well as Sheriff Baca, Supervisor Antonovich, a total of approximately 150 attendees, certainly including your brothers in service honored YOU and fallen Search and Rescue officer Charles Rea. The memorial in place at the sheriffs station on Briggs is excellent in design, we are very grateful for their support and spirit.

50 years have gone by since you were taken from your family. Many have lost their lives in the line of duty
since, but it is important to remember you, Deputy Sheriff Horr and your willingness to serve and protect. Thank you.

At age 4, the youngest of three sons, I was left with no fatherly memories after the death of our father. A sad fact to be sure, but I always rested in the knowledge and pride of knowing my dad was a true servant to family, community and nation. Along with my mother I owe him my existence, a very happy one at that, and am very thankful that he left a strong wife (our mother) to bravely carry on the raising of three boys through difficult times. I believe he would be proud of all. While sharing a certain physical appearance it is my hope that I too reflect his quality of character which others remember for me. May all of us honor him by continuing a heritage of service to our families, friends and community.

I was but 10 years of age, but I remember well the news of the shooting arriving at our home. I remain grateful for the many personnel within the department who came to our aid. The career of my father helped lead me to my own career in the law enforcement profession. I honor him and recognize his sacrifice in behalf of the community in which we lived.

Now 50years past a memorial for your sacrifice to the community served by the Crescenta Valley Sheriffs Station is being erected. Your personnel file, your badge, and all of the newspaper articles pertinent to your fateful day are part of the memorial at the station. When you left for work on December 7, 1957, I never saw you again. Things were not as perfect without you, love....don
