To My Grandfather..... 100 years have passed. I never knew you, but your son, Ernest Oliver Hopkins, was my Father. The best Father one could have hoped for. He was only 5 when you died, and I think that made him the strong person he was. You would have been proud of him..... he was the perfect image of you. You're in my thoughts, and I know the two of you are together now.

Time may have passed but you are not forgotten. I believe as long as someone remembers you or speaks your name, you are still with us.
Thank you for your heroism.
GOD Bless

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 97th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace

Sgt. Hopkins,
On today, the 94th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of San Diego. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy. That your murderer was only sentenced to two years is an outrage but hopefully now he is serving his real punishment.

Grandpa Hopkins, although I was born 34 years after your death, memories of you have never left my heart. Your son, Ernest Oliver, and my dad gave me many wonderful stories of his childhood with you. Your photo standing next to a 1915 motorcycle still graces my home, and there isn't a day that passes that I don't think of you and my Dad that was your perfect image. So, Officer Terry, time may have passed alomst 100 years since his death, but the family will never forget where we came from.

Love and memories always, Linda
