Your heroism and service is honored today, the 70th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.

When my son was around 4 years old he asked me “why do you have a gun for work?” How do you answer that? How many other law enforcement officers have been asked that very same question by their young children? Why? Trying to explain only ads to the confusion and fear in their eyes. You try to change the subject and move on. You know why or at least you know the simple answer to why. Now that son wears a badge and a gun to work and he understands why. For MN DNR a tragic awakening and the reason why happened on July 12, 1940. Rest in Peace Officer Holt, you are not forgotton
