Dear Holmes Family:
Today, I read the story in the Boston Globe mentioning George being killed in the line of duty on November 6, 1963 and memories of that day and all of you rushed into my mind. I was in high school and my family (Geary's) lived across the street from you on the corner of Park & Spencer Streets. George, Jr., was also a good friend of mine. So I wanted your family to know that we remember your family and George fondly and wish you peace after all these years of pain and loss.
