Reflections for Special Deputy Marshal Alonzo Walter "Lon" Holden

Lon Holden was the oldest brother of my grandfather, J.D. "Delt" Holden. He died before my mother was born but she told me about him and his life in law enforcement.

To everyone who has posted here. Thank you. I am the great grandaughter of Alonzo Holden. I am overwhelmed by this out showing of care and honor here. While my great grandfather was long gone before my birth, my beloved father was named after him. He is a legend in our family and I feel so honored and blessed to have seen your generous comments. Thank you again.

To my Great Uncle Lon:

The family is proud of you and your service. You helped to tame the lawlessness of a young and untamed place. I trust that our Lord had given you Comfort.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the one hundred anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.
