My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Patrolman Hird, Yesterday marked the 40th anniversary of your sad death. You gave your all for the people of Methuen and though I've never resided there, I thank you none the less. If you serve even one person in Massachusetts as a Police Officer, you serve all. You are a hero.
