I was in high school in Washington D.C. when this incident occurred. It was all over the news. I am now a police officer in a local department and find myself thinking back to this horrible day. I did not know any of the officers involved, but in my mind none of them have been forgotten. God Bless You For Your Service. Rest in Peace.

What a tragedy. None of us who are civilians can understand the pain that officers must go through after being critically wounded. They often have to spend several years having surgery after surgery, and despite this often lose their battle toward full recovery. I hope that Corporal Hill's family has been doing well over the years. Rest well, Corporal Hill, and thanks for fighting the good fight. You've earned your place behind heaven's gates.

Baltimore County Police Explorer, MD

The ultimate sacrifice. Our condolences from Canada, Officer Hill.
