Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Dan Heryford

So two cop killers get convicted and do 27 years. Absolute travesty! May God bless you and Undersheriff Earl Sholes as well as your families and know that no passage of time will ever erase your service and sacrifice.

I never knew you but you were still my Grandfather. Know to my older siblings as "Granddan", you were reportedly a wonderful Father, Grandfather, and faithful servant to the community. I have always missed knowing you and look forward to uniting in the afterlife.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 59th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.
