Reflections for Deputy Sheriff David Dawson Hefner
This was my father. I was only 5 years old at the time and never really got to know him. But I have never forgotten him and he has always been my hero, I just wish I could have told him in person.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 55th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
