Reflections for Police Officer Christy Lynne Brondell-Hamilton
Officer Brondell-Hamilton,
Today is the 31st anniversary of your death. I never met you, but the incident affected me because I had a cousin with whom I'm close, who graduated from the LAPD academy around that time. I know you are missed by relatives and friends. I hope you are peacefully dwelling in heaven, patrolling its streets.

Dear Aunt Christy,
It’s just after midnight and 31 years since you entered your heavenly home. I read a quote that said, “Some days I feel as if I’m conquering the world in your honor; and some days I feel as if I’m lost in the heartache of your absence.” This is definitely one of those days when I feel lost in the heartache …
If you can, please send me a sign today … I could really use a hug from heaven.
You are remembered, missed, and loved beyond measure!

Officer Brondell-Hamilton,
Today marks 30 years since your tragic death. it saddens me to think how many lives are impacted by the tragic loss of one person. It warms my heart though, to see how many people think of your every year. Hope you continue to rest in peace.

Dear Aunt Christy,
30 years … that’s tough to believe! I miss you everyday, but somehow this day the missing you runs even deeper. I know you would not want me to be sad … but I will carry a hole in my heart until I see you again. Most days, I think of you and smile. Today, however, I’m filled with thoughts of that day 30 years ago, and the pain that has followed. I pray I am making you proud. I’m sure you welcomed Tom to heaven - please give him a hug for me.
I know a day will come when we will be together again … until then, please continue to walk beside me … send signs when you can … and know that you are missed and loved beyond measure!

Officer Hamilton,
I used to live in Los Angeles County. Tonight I was browsing through the ODMP site, looking through the LAPD section. I came upon your name and photo, which brought back memories. I recall seeing the same photo for the first time, in 1994, on my television screen, while watching the news on television. It was then, that I heard the tragic account of how you lost your life in the line of duty. What I did not know then, was how many lives you had touched in the short time you were on earth. Especially the lives of your daughter and niece. Even now, almost thirty years later, you continue to touch lives. I know reading the reflections on your page tonight, you've managed to touch my life too. It's too bad you did not get to continue to live out your career. You would have been great at your job. I hope I get to meet you in person up in heaven.

It’s been 28 years … I am the age you were that night. February 22nd falls on a Tuesday this year, the day after President’s Day, just like it did in 1994. Strange how it all lines up the same way, the year we are the same age …
You had so much ahead of you, and so many of us that loved you. That night changed everything. Sometimes I wonder, are you still 45 in heaven? Does time stop? Next time I see you, I’ll never let go. I love you, Aunt Christy!

28 years ago today , I hugged you for the last time. It was your academy graduation. If only I knew I would wake up four days later to a nightmare … I would have never let go of that hug.
I miss you every day … I’ll love you forever.

I responded to this call on engine 87. Rescue 87 and engine 87 did all we could for Christy that night. I drove the ambulance to Northridge hospital with an LAPD escort. A night forever in my mind.

Dear Aunt Christy,
This night is always tough for me . 27 years ago I went to sleep and was awakened in the middle of the night by screaming ... and the truth that my life was forever different. I miss you every day. Some days I feel so alone. Every day I’m jealous of the angels.
Continue to watch over us. Know that you are loved beyond measure and remembered always. If you can, please send me a sign tomorrow ... 2/22 is a hard day, no matter how many years have passed.
Until we meet again ...

MA'AM I JUST WANT TO THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE. YOU LOOKED FEAR STRAIGHT IN THE EYES AND FOUGHT A GOOD FIGHT. YOU ARE A BRAVE AND VERY COURAGEOUS WOMAN. THANK YOU FOR JOINING THE LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT AND PUTTING YOUR LIFE ON THE LINE. ALTHOUGH YOUR CAREER ENDED WAY TOO SOON, YOU ARE A HERO AND VERY RESPECTED.
I AM A RECRUIT AT THE ACADEMY FOR THE LOS ANGELES SHERIFFS DEPARTMENT. YOU HAVE A PLAQUE ON OUR MEMORIAL WALL, AS OUR RAMROD SPOKE ABOUT FALLEN OFFICERS, I SPOTTED YOUR NAME AND I STARED AT IT; THOUGHT OF WHO YOU WERE, WHAT YOUR STORY WAS AND YOUR FAMILY. ALTHOUGH I DID NOT KNOW YOU OR YOUR FAMILY, YOU WILL ALWAYS STAY IN MY HEART AS A HERO.
AS FOR YOUR FAMILY, I'M DEEPLY SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. I HAVE FAMILY IN LAW ENFORCEMENT AND I DO NOT KNOW WHAT I WOULD DO IF I LOST THEM. YOU ALL HAVE AN ANGEL PROTECTING YOU UP IN HEAVEN. GOD BLESS EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU.

Yesterday (02/23/2014), was the first time that I have visited Devonshire Station, since Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Police Officer Christy Lynne Hamilton was murdered twenty years ago, and I responded. (I ended-up taking the photographs which were later used by Robbery Homicide Division.)
A Memorial Event for LAPD Officer Christy Lynne Hamilton, Policeman Nick Sintic, Police Officer Paul Verna and Police Officer Ronald Ball, was held to Honor “Devonshire‘s Fallen.”.
(May They All, Rest - In - Peace.)

Dear Aunt Christy,
20 years ago tonight you went to work prepared for whatever might come, but never knowing that all would be asked of you. We will gather in the morning to remember, honor and celebrate your life. You were such an amazing gift to us all. Not a day goes by that I don't think of you and miss you. Watch over us. Protect the men and women of law enforcement so that no other families will ever know this pain.
Thank you for your love ... the bond we shared will never be broken. I feel you beside me, and I know your angel wings surround me. You will never be forgotten ...
I love you!

Dear Christy,
I think of you often. You were one of my favorite students when I was teaching at the academy and I really admired how hard you worked. I was shocked when I learned how quickly you passed right out of the academy. Such a tragedy. Obviously your sacrifice is remembered by all those who had the honor of knowing you. I think of you often and hope all those who are reading this know how much I and the other instructors at the academy respected you.
