Mr. Hart was my Grandfather's (Larry Cornic's) Step-Father. He told me this sad story, and actually attended the execution of the defendant. RIP Mr. Hart. Gone but not forgotten.

Robert Alan Hart was my Grandmother's brother. My Grandmother was Bessie G Hart King who died in 1980. I remember my mom telling me the story of my Grandma suddenly rushed my mom into the house for the night. Mom thought it was strange for it was pretty early in the evening. Soon, someone can knocking on the door. The visitor informed my grandma of her brother being hurt and does she want him to take her to the hospital. She replied, "it's too late". It was felt that she had a sixth sense, but kept it to herself, for being a Preacher's wife.

Robert Alan Hart was my mother's brother and he was my Uncle. I was very young when he was killed at the Prison and he's always been a hero to his family. He was the son of Robert R. Hart and Etta Mae Hart of Mt. Carmel, IL. Thanks for a nice website and for honoring the fallen.
